St. Luke's Therapy Services provides special care to those who have sustained a work-related injury. Once your injury has been evaluated by the work health physician, they may recommend physical or occupational therapy. After a thorough examination by one of our therapists, an individualized treatment program will be formulated. Your care will be coordinated by a team that includes your therapist, work health physician and case manager.
Therapy treatment after work injury is designed to:
- Decrease pain and inflammation
- Restore motion
- Restore strength
- Restore function and work ability
Treatments may include:
- Modalities (heat, cold, electrical simulation, etc.)
- Stretching
- Strengthening
- Manual therapy
- Work task simulation
- Education on ergonomics and body mechanics
