St. Luke's Day Therapy Program

A Bridge to Independence

St. Luke's Day Therapy Program is an intensive outpatient therapy program for patients who live at home and no longer require 24 hours nursing or inpatient therapy. Our program helps build physical strength and functional skills so individuals can manage activities of daily living as independently as possible. Together, we develop a treatment plan so individuals can enjoy their favorite activities, participate in family or social get-togethers and return to work.

Who can Benefit?
People who can benefit from day therapy include people:
  • recovering from a stroke or other neurological event
  • recovering from a traumatic accident or an extended complex medical stay
  • recovering from amputation
  • living with Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome
  • who have had a decline in function and are struggling to live on their own
What to Expect
Our therapists work with you and your referring physician to personalize your treatment plan based on your unique situation and goals. Sessions can include a combination of physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapy. Activities of daily living, like cooking and laundry, are practiced in functional settings to ensure you are comfortable in your home and out in the world.

Our therapists may also recommend and instruct you on the use of adaptive equipment to enhance your abilities and maximize your safety.

Sessions can last up to 4 to 5 hours a day and are offered several days a week. Patients can bring their own snacks or meals or purchase food from the hospital’s Café or Lounge Twelve.
