St. Luke's state-of-the-art gastrointestinal laboratory (GI lab) offers a convenient, specialized facility dedicated to the performance of gastrointestinal procedures. The GI Lab, conveniently located for patients in the St. Louis area, provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for areas of the digestive tract including:
- Colon
- Esophagus
- Large and small intestines
- Liver
- Pancreas
- Stomach
Endoscopic Procedures
St. Luke's physicians, who have advanced training in digestive diseases, examine patients by performing endoscopic procedures. Endoscopic procedures help doctors to diagnose and treat conditions of the GI tract by using a thin, flexible tube (called an endoscope) to examine the lining of the digestive tract.
We perform the following procedures:
- Colonoscopy
- Upper Endoscopy (also called Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) or Panendoscopy)
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Capsule Endoscopy
- Ph and Motility Testing
- Endoscopic Ultrasound
