St. Luke's Begins Ground-Breaking Cancer Treatment
Chesterfield, MO, August 7, 2023 – St. Luke’s is the first community hospital in the region to offer a ground-breaking, outpatient cancer treatment-bispecific antibodies (bsAbs)! On top of our Newsweek recognition as one of “America’s Best Cancer Hospitals, 2023, Dr. Mark Fesler, St. Luke’s Hematologic Malignancy Specialist and Board of Trustees Member for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Lower Plains Chapter, was a featured physician in St. Louis Magazine’s “Best Doctors” issue. Dr. Fesler is a renowned specialist and researcher that will be chairing our oncology efforts in this arena. Dr. Fesler firmly believes bsAbs will revolutionize all cancer treatment, not just cancers of the blood.
Bispecifics are antibodies that target cancer cells and activate the immune system to attack the cancer. St. Luke’s Center for Cancer Care offers a bispecific immunotherapy program with both FDA-approved and clinical trial options for patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma. St. Luke’s is the only participating site in the entire region for two of the bispecific studies. St. Luke’s is conducting clinical trials that increase the availability of who might be eligible for bispecific treatment.
