St. Luke's Hospital Names New President and CEO

St. Luke’s Hospital has named Shane Cerone as the healthcare network’s new president and chief executive officer, effective October 1, 2020.

Cerone comes to St. Luke’s with more than 25 years of executive leadership experience, most recently serving as the chief executive officer and founder of Health Market Solutions, a healthcare consulting practice that works with hospitals, health systems and medical groups. Prior to founding HMS, Cerone served as the president of Beaumont, Royal Oak, a 1,100-bed teaching hospital and level I trauma center in Southeast Michigan. He began his career at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Cerone received his master’s degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa and his bachelor’s degree in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Cerone succeeds Gary Olson in the top executive role at St. Luke’s, whose 36-year career with the hospital includes serving as the healthcare network’s president and chief executive officer from 1999 to 2015 and as its interim leader over the past several months.
