For individuals with a variety of needs, nutritional counseling is available in the Center for Cancer Care to help those with cancer manage nutritional problems, make healthier food choices, or evaluate further nutrition support needs when appropriate. A registered dietitian communicates with the medical staff and works one-on-one with the patient, individualizing the nutrition care plan according to disease state needs, lifestyle, and side effects from treatment, such as poor appetite or taste changes.
Nutritional Counseling Services in the Center for Cancer Care are available by physician referral. St. Luke's Hospital also has outpatient nutritional counseling for other needs not related to oncology.
