3D/Conformal Radiation Therapy
St. Luke's Hospital utilizes the latest advances in 3D/conformal radiation therapy to treat tumors throughout the body. 3D/conformal radiation therapy is a treatment option that provides three-dimensional information about the patient's anatomy and allows radiation oncologists to better design and plan treatment. By utilizing advanced imaging and computer software, treatments are more focused while conforming to the shape of the target in three-dimensional form, minimizing incidental irradiation of adjacent non-target structures. 3D/conformal radiation can treat various forms of cancer including cancers of the prostate, lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal tract, brain, breast cancer and extremity sarcomas.
