Surajit Majumdar, MD, FACP, is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine at Chesterfield Internal Medicine & Rheumatology. He earned his medical degree from Calcutta Medical College and completed his postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Calcutta - Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research. He completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and his fellowship in Medical Leadership from the University of South Florida’s Leadership Institute. He also obtained the prestigious Membership of Royal College of Physicians in 1992, while working as a Registrar in Medicine in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Majumdar works closely with patients to focus on preventative health and wellness and has a special interest in treating hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes and obesity. He provides a full spectrum of preventative and primary care and treats a variety of issues including thyroid disorders, asthma, COPD, simple rheumatologic conditions (osteoarthritis), and bone health problems (osteopenia and osteoporosis).  

Dr. Majumdar delivers a holistic approach towards medicine and offers compassionate care to each patient, carefully coordinating with the healthcare team to manage any chronic medical conditions or illnesses. He enjoys working with patients to build a relationship based on good communication and trust, and encourages patients to take an active role in improving their health through healthy lifestyle choices.
