About

I joined the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Women's Health at Saint louis University in July 2013. My activities include mentoring and education for residents and medical students, patients care, and conducting basic and translational research.

To date, my research activites have been primarily focused on ovarian cancer. As a clinical investigator, my research focus has been on the early detection and management of ovarian cancer. In addition to participation in numerous Gynecologic Oncology Group trials, I was also incolved in the University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Screening Study and the development of new algorithms and opportunities to detect ovarian cancers at an earlier stage.

As a translational researcher, I am interested in ovarian cancer cell signaling and the 'switch' that allows cells to metastasize. Most recently out lab published data on the role of CD 151--α3β1 integrin complexes and associated pathways related to ovarian tumor growth and progression. Through continued involvement in both clinical and translational research, my hope is to develop new and novel ways to diagnose and manage the most lethal gynecologic cancers.
