About
Ippei Takagi, MD, is an American Board of Neurological Surgery certified neurosurgeon and fellowship trained spine surgeon at St. Luke’s. Dr. Takagi treats back pain, degenerative disc disease, myelopathy, neck pain, radiculopathy, sciatica, and stenosis using both surgical and non-surgical methods. Procedures he performs include cervical/thoracic/lumbar spine surgery, intracranial surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, revision surgery, and spinal instrumentation.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and a Doctorate of Medicine from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Dr. Takagi completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center and a fellowship in complex spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Takagi enjoys dining out at restaurants, attending concerts, watching and playing sports, and traveling.
