Anupama Rao, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist at St. Luke’s.

Dr. Rao earned her medicaldegree from Case Western Reserve University. She completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI. She then completed her post-doctoral research cardiology fellowship at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, and her cardiology fellowship at Washington University in Saint Louis, Saint Louis MO, where she also served as Chief Fellow. She completed her advanced cardiac imaging and laboratory of cardiac energetics fellowship at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Rao is an expert in the treatment and long-term management of many types of heart conditions. Her areas of interest include noninvasive cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular imaging (CT and MRI) and sports cardiology.  Dr. Rao’s goal is to educate and empower her patients so they can understand their health issues and be actively involved in creating their care plan. She wants each patient to fully understand their health conditions and treatment options so they can work together to reduce their future risk and reach their full health potential. Dr. Rao looks forward to being your partner and treating you with the same level of skill and respect that she would want for her own family.
