To ensure you receive well-rounded care, St. Luke's provides a wealth of patient support services. We're here to help you on your path to well-being.
Spiritual support
For many people, spiritual support plays a large role in the healing process. At St. Luke's Hospital and at St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital, we encourage patients of all faiths to receive visits and spiritual or sacramental support from their own clergy. If your own spiritual advisor is unavailable, or if you would like to receive Holy Communion, ask your nurse to contact our Spiritual Care team for you.
St. Luke's chaplains are here to aid you with any spiritual needs you may have. They are spiritual counselors who are available for periods of crisis and to help with coping and recovery through spirituality. You may request their services 24 hours a day.
Language interpreters
We want to remove the barriers of communication between patients, their families and our medical team. If you're not fluent in English, or have other communication needs, St. Luke’s Hospital/St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital offers interpreter services at no cost for patients and/or caregivers through in-person interpreters and video remote interpreters (VRI).
Our language interpreters are available to help facilitate communications with any patient who's not fluent in English. We can provide interpreters to communicate in the language you are most comfortable speaking at no cost to you. Your nurse will coordinate these services upon request. It's recommended that you use a medical interpreter instead of a family member or friend, as it's important that medical information is translated accurately so that you can make informed healthcare decisions.
To request these services at St. Luke’s Hospital Chesterfield campus, please contact your nurse, or call Care Management at 314-205-6901 Monday-Friday during business hours, and Patient Services at 314-205-6971 on weekends/after hours.
To request these services at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital, please contact the Nursing Supervisor at 314-966-9133.
