On April 21, 2020, Linda’s world had changed. When Linda heard she had been diagnosed with endometrial cancer, she felt like it was a death sentence. Several of her friends had recommended the care team at St. Luke’s Center for Cancer Care. After her first initial interview with oncologists, Jason Edwards, MD, and John Hoff, MD, she knew she had met her care team.
Linda spoke with Dr. Edwards about her diagnosis and treatment for about 30 minutes. Finally, when Dr. Edwards said, “we are going to get through this together,” she felt her anxiety ease. “From the moment I walked in there, of course you are scared to death, but it wasn’t only him [Dr. Edwards], it was the whole staff. Everybody made you feel so comfortable. A whole different atmosphere here, which is so appreciated,” Linda said.
When life got tough, Linda got strong. She battled and found her inner strength to push ahead. In October 2021, she came back to talk about her experience with Dr. Edwards.
“You can’t go anywhere else. You got to go to St. Luke’s. You have to have Dr. Hoff and Dr. Edwards,” she said.
