St. Luke's Hospital Receives National Award for "Spirit of Women" TV & Website Campaign

The Aster Award recognizes excellence in medical marketing and is one of the largest national competitions of its kind.

CHESTERFIELD, MO, June 23, 2010 - St. Luke's Hospital is the recipient of a gold 2010 Aster Award for its "Spirit of Women" television and website campaign. The national award recognizes excellence in medical marketing.

The winning campaign includes a 30-second television commercial featuring four women, St. Luke's patients, who took action for their health and improved their overall quality of life. A graphic at the end of the commercial directs viewers to St. Luke's website, www.stlukes-stl.com, to hear more. The online videos about each of the women provide greater insight into their inspirational stories. To view the commercial and the online videos, visit www.stlukes-stl.com.

As the only Spirit of Women hospital in the region, St. Luke's is part of a coalition of hospitals across the nation that ascribes to high standards of excellence in women's health, education and community outreach.

"Through St. Luke's Spirit of Women initiative, we have the incredible opportunity to enable women in our community to improve the quality of their lives and ultimately the lives of their entire families," said Jan Hess, St. Luke's Hospital vice president. "Receiving this award is icing on the cake."

St. Luke's marketing and communications staff developed the concept and script, and St. Louis freelancer John Dallavis served as producer/director. The 2010 Aster Awards received approximately 3,000 entries from across the United States as well as Canada and South America. Participants' entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

The Aster Awards, one of the largest national competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine, and Creative Images, Inc.
