There may be other brand names for this medicine.When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:
You should not receive fluorescein while you are wearing soft contact lenses. Fluorescein could stain your soft contact lenses.How to Use This Medicine:
Thin Sheet, Liquid, Test
- A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. Fluorescein is given directly onto the surface of your eye.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
Warnings While Using This Medicine:
- Make sure your doctor knows if you have had an allergic reaction to any medicine or dye.
- You should not wear soft contact lenses for at least an hour after receiving fluorescein. Also, flush your eye with sterile saline before putting your contact lenses in, unless your doctor tells you not to.
Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine:
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- New or worsening eye pain, redness, or swelling.
- New or worsening vision problems.
