About this event

St. Luke's Community Diabetes Screening offers you the opportunity to learn about your risk for diabetes, to connect to resources, and to create a plan to keep you healthy.

Screenings are FREE and require a finger stick for a blood glucose value and for a hemoglobin A1C value. This is a non-fasting screening, it takes 10 minutes, and the results are immediate.

Common risk factors for diabetes include:

  • A personal history of high blood sugar
  • Family history of diabetes
  • Tobacco use
  • Age
  • Overweight
  • Physical inactivity

Possible symptoms of diabetes:

  • Urinate (pee) a lot, often at night
  • Are very thirsty
  • Lose weight without trying
  • Are very hungry
  • Have blurry vision
  • Have numb or tingling hands or feet
  • Feel very tired
  • Have very dry skin
