What is Mobile Mammography?
Since 1986, St. Luke's Hospital has operated a mobile mammography unit accredited by the American College of Radiology. The mobile unit features the same technology used in Out-patient Radiology and is staffed by women who are registered radiologic technologists, accredited in mammography. Only screening mammograms are performed on the mobile unit. The films are developed and read at the hospital. The staff and the mobile unit are part of St. Luke's Radiology Department. The mobile unit visits area businesses, shopping centers and other public places near your home or workplace. The mobile unit also makes monthly visits to all St. Luke's Urgent Care centers.
