Barb O'Brien, DO, grew up in St. Louis, attended Rosati-Kain High School, graduated from Truman State University with Bachelors of Science degrees in Psychology in 1992 and Biology in 1995 and earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She practiced several years in South St. Louis before joining her current group at Westglen Family Physicians in Ellisville and is affiliated with St. Luke's Hospital.
Dr. O'Brien is a board-certified specialist in Family Medicine and has a broad range of interests, including:
- Care for babies, children, adults and seniors
- Physicals for school, sports, summer camp and/or employment
- Pap smears and family planning
- Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, asthma and comprehensive medical care with a focus on disease prevention and management, including hospital and office care
- Smoking cessation, weight loss and preventative medicine
- Immunizations, injections and tuberculosis screening
- EKG, Lab and X-ray
- Botox, facials and minor surgical procedures
- Volunteer academic/clinical faculty for medical residents and medical students
Dr. O'Brien enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dogs, playing softball and volleyball, following politics and is an avid Cardinals, Rams and Blues fan.
Dr. O'Brien welcomes new patients of all ages and offers early morning appointments on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 7:30 a.m.
