H1N1 Flu Update & What You Can Do to Stay Healthy

The World Health Organization has declared the H1N1 influenza A virus a worldwide pandemic.
St. Luke's Hospital continues to monitor the situation in conjunction with local, state and national public health officials.

The following information is provided to keep you informed so you can take action to stay healthy.

What You Can Do - Practice Good Health Habits Every Day:
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue away after using it.


  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. You may also use alcohol-based hand cleaners.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth to avoid getting infected.


  • Avoid close contact with sick people.


  • If you do get sick, consider staying home from work or school.
